PHAI-RA! is a survey exhibition of contemporary photo-media art featuring new work by six female artists: Anna Jacobson, Phoebe McDonald, Heidi Stevens, Imogen MacDonald, Rebecca Smith and Ashleigh Kennedy.
Opening Thursday 25 March 5-9pm, PHAI-RA! runs from 25 March – 6 April 2010 at Bleeding Heart Art Gallery, 166 Ann Street.
PHAI-RA! is part of the third Queensland Festival of Photography– a month-long celebration of the best photographic practice in Queensland.
Anna was a finalist in the 2009 Olive Cotton Award for Photographic Portraiture for her photograph ‘Self Portrait: Beyond the Old Museum Cupboard’. Exhibited with the finalists in an exhibition at the Tweed Regional Gallery, ‘Self Portrait: Beyond the Old Museum Cupboard’ is part of her series ‘Scenes from the Old Museum Building’.
